POOCH in workshop and Off-Broadway!

Exciting news: September 2018 saw two POOCH events... in workshop and Off-Broadway!

POOCH received its first fully staged workshop at Seagle Music Colony in upstate New York during the first week of September. The superb cast and production team (conductor Joshua Horsch, director Richard Kagey, pianist Gordon Schermer and Artistic Director Darren Woods) magnificently brought the show off leash. Er, "to life." (No dogs were harmed in the making of this musical.) Post-performance, Darren Woods led the audience in a marvelous and very positive talkback.

OK, upstate New York is REALLY "Off-Broadway." But excerpts from POOCH were performed on "true Off-Broadway," also in September, at Acorn Theatre on West 42nd Street, as part of the 2018 New York New Works Festival. The terrific cast was brilliantly led by director Samantha Saltzman and music director David Wolfson. The cast featured Ellie Fishman, Dan Berryman and Tim Jerome.

In other news:

The Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington, MA presented a "sneak peak" of songs from POOCH at a special donors' event on May 19, 2018.

POOCH opened the 2015 Santa Fe Musical Theater Festival at the beautifully restored Lensic Theater. The well-received reading was directed by Lukas Kantor. Post-performance, the audience was asked to offer feedback, which proved extremely positive and helpful.

POOCH received its first staged reading at Pearl Studios, New York, in May 2013, directed by Gabriel Barre. Revisions based on that process led to the show's second reading at Santa Fe.
